Envato a finalist for Legal Innovation award
Envato has been named a finalist for the 2015 Legal Innovation Index, announced today by LexisNexis® Pacific and Janders Dean.
The Envato legal team, led by Envato Legal Director Chaman Sidhu, are the only finalist in the 'organisation' category that is not a law firm.
"It's wonderful to be recognised, particularly to be the only team finalist in the organisation category that isn't a law specialist," says Chaman.
"It's also a strong reflection of the talent in the Australian technology and start-up community.
"Running a global, digital marketplace demands an innovative approach to navigating transactional governance, intellectual property, licensing and other complex regulatory areas.
"Our legal team use agile methodologies and cutting edge technology to work across borders and stay on the cutting edge of a dynamic market."

“Innovation has certainly grown from a ‘buzz word’ to a direction in which we are looking to take the business of law in Australia”, explains Jo Beckett, General Manager of LexisNexis Australia.
“As a result the 2015 Legal Innovation Index has had more than double the entries of last year, with both companies and individuals presenting a fantastic array of new and re-imagined business practices, tools and ways of thinking to the local legal sector."
In addition to the Envato legal team, the finalists from the Organisations category are: AdventBalance, Allens, Creevey Russell Lawyers, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Gilbert + Tobin, Herbert Smith Freehills, Daniel Lew Le Mercier & Co, KWS Legal, LawPath, McCullough Robertson Lawyers, Norton Rose Fulbright, Pace Lawyers, RMB Lawyers, Sparke Helmore Lawyers, Sydney Criminal Lawyers, The Fold Legal, and View Legal.
