Milkshake, a free website creation app for Instagram and TikTok users, has been named among the honorees in the annual Webby Awards.

The app was honoured in the Apps, Mobile & Voice – Productivity category, alongside household names such as Trello, Evernote and Airtable.

“Honorees like Milkshake are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,000 entries we received this year.”

Envato CEO Collis Ta’eed said the news was a wonderful recognition for the team and community that support Milkshake every day. “When we started Milkshake we had bold goals to help reshape how Instagram users could bring their profiles to life and in the process, change how website creation was done on a mobile.”

“The Webby’s honour is a wonderful recognition of how we are delivering on our objectives, with nearly 100,000 sites now created using the app across iOS and Android devices.”

Milkshake was launched in June 2019 and in just its first year of operation is rapidly approaching 400,000 unique app installs, and almost 100,000 sites built by iOS and Android users in 217 countries.

From business owners, beauty gurus, artists, pet influencers, activists and everything else in between, the Milkshake app has helped this new DIY generation to make their mark online, without the need for desktops, design or web development skills. The app provides its users with a fun, fast and beautiful way to not only feature multiple links in their bio, but also connect their community to all of their content with a stunning and professional Insta website.

“It’s been so gratifying seeing how creative our Milkshake community is,” commented Madeleine Rochecouste, Product Marketing Specialist for Milkshake. “From female entrepreneurs to lifestyle influencers or even just people who want to take advantage of Instagram’s and TikTok’s “one link in bio” rule, we’ve seen some truly impressive Insta websites being built.”

“We’re humbled by the Webby’s honour and can’t wait to continue providing a way for our users to make the most of their online presence to leverage their content into greater business outcomes.”

Now in its 24th year and recognized as the “Internet’s highest honour” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards are, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS),  the leading international awards organization honouring excellence on the Internet.

The IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of Internet industry experts including Instagram Co-founder Kevin Systrom, Mozilla Chairwoman Mitchell Baker, 23andMe Co-Founder and CEO Anne Wojcicki and PBS CEO Paula Kerger.
